COMMUNITY

Updated: Mar 5, 2023

It’s all about people. Pause to cut the caution tape.

No matter where you are on ”the spectrum”of being human, the thought of joining a group of people takes a moment to process. My mental checklist usually includes (but not limited to): Similar interests? Similar beliefs? Similar goals? How often do I have to be with them? Pause to ask God about that last phrasing.

Truth is, I shy away from community. Not that I don't like people, I just don't like the possibility (or probability) that they will control me. Steel my time. Lock me into something I can't get out of. Wow. That was a lot! Might as well add more to the confession. My excuse has always been, "I'm a loner." Wow. That couldn't be further from the Truth. I'm NOT A LONER, never have been. Crazy how definitions and twisted perceptions can separate you from what God intended us all to be a part of, i.e., community. Pause for change of mind.

God created people to CREATE with people: BUILD things. NAME things. DO things. CHANGE things. "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their work. And if one has a fall, the other will give him a hand; but unhappy is the man who is by himself, because he has no helper." Eccleciastes 4:9. Bottom line…We need each other. Our ideas and dreams need each other. Do not be afraid (anxious, worried). "Time is not an enemy. Created by God, time is beautiful! Time is simply measuring you walking forward into what God has for you, starting today." Jamie Winship/ Living Fearless Pause to hear what’s next.

Add to the checklist. Limitless ideas? No fear of failure? Relentless in pursuit of excellence? All working from their truest self? I'm IN. Jesus called this kind of community the kingdom of God here on earth.

It's real. It's happening. It's exciting. It's yours for the imagination.

Bless.

And let us be moving one another at all times to love and good works; Not giving up our meetings, as is the way of some, but keeping one another strong in faith; and all the more because you see the day coming near. Hebrews 10:24-25 BBE
