THE MIRROR

It’s hard to be honest and be who you really are when the mirror is saying otherwise.
Pause.
The mirror...a place you can hide, pretend, lie and protect the image you want others to see. The one you want desperatelyto believe. The one that reaches their dreams, fulfills expectation, and responds “I’m doing great” upon request.
Holding the mirror is exhausting. You have to get the angle just right so that the world is always seeing your best side. The winner side. The happy side. But that’s not always true. Life can be unfair, cruel and undeniably deceiving.Misrepresenting what is really true about you.
Life learned backwards: A tilted mirror distorts your inner beauty. The perfect, complete, unique, design of the real you. You never see it because the reflection of others has changed your view. It’s a process to let that go.
Forgive yourself. Forgive others.
You don’t need the mirror to prove anything. You are already, before the beginning and beyond, a reflection of God’s beauty.
Bless. Momma Bear.
"And all of us, with unveiled faces, seeing the glory of the Lord as though reflected in a mirror, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another." 2 Corinthians 3:18 NRSV
